Huacaña – Andamarca – Puquio road will benefit more than 28 thousand Peruvians
Today, Ollanta Humala Tasso, President of the Republic, and José Gallardo Ku, Minister of Transports and Communications, opened the Huacaña – Andamarca – Puquio road, which will benefit more than 28 thousand inhabitants of the provinces of Sucre and Lucanas in Ayacucho.
Minister Gallardo highlighted that this 127 km road will considerably reduce journey times, from 6 hours to only 3, which will mainly benefit the inhabitants of the following towns and villages: Huacaña, Santa Anta de Huaycahuacho, Aucara, Cabana, Carmen Salcedo, and Puquio.
The work will demand an investment of PEN 53.495 million. It will improve the road’s trafficability and raise the population’s quality of life by providing a better road and telecommunications infrastructure, boosting the regional economies and strengthening national integration.
The Huacaña – Andamarca – Puquio stretch will connect these Ayacucho towns to the south with Arequipa; to the east with Cusco and Apurimac; to the north with Junin and Huancavelica; and to the west with Ica.
This road is part of the 372-km long Toccto – Huancapi – Querobamba – Puquio road corridor, which has an investment of PEN 176.226 million.
