The President of the Republic, Ollanta Humala, and the Minister of Transports and Communications, José Gallardo Ku, kicked off maintenance activities in Ayacucho, on Carapo Detour – Pomabamba – PE 32 Junction (Chalco) stretch, which will benefit more than 25 thousand inhabitants.
Along this 66.61 km stretch, the activities, which required an investment of PEN 29.82 million, allow connecting the districts of Carapo, Sarhua, Humanquiquia, Chuschi, María Parado de Bellido, and Los Morochucos, crossing the provinces of Huancasancos, Víctor Fajardo, and Cangallo.
“Works like this do not only provide a better quality of life to the inhabitants by shortening journey times – in this case, by nearly 50% – and increasing the safety of users, but also by promoting the generation of jobs and private investment that is sustainable over time,” stated Gallardo Ku at the district of Maria Parado de Bellido in the province of Cangallo.
The head of the MTC also highlighted that these activities boost sustained socioeconomic development, revaluing cultural patterns and the provision of public and administrative services.
Moreover, the activities favor more active social inclusion work, particularly in health and education, through activities on the national road networks.
